Syrian Military Forces Push Toward Tishrin Dam

(MENAFN) The Syrian army on Monday initiated a determined push to gain control of the strategically important Tishrin Dam, situated southeast of Manbij and previously occupied by the YPG/SDF terrorist organization. Military officials characterized the maneuver as a pivotal effort to secure essential national infrastructure.

A media team reporting from Manbij confirmed that elements of the group have started pulling back from the dam’s vicinity, suggesting a retreat under mounting pressure. Eyewitnesses observed that the withdrawal was carried out in an orderly fashion, with fighters vacating positions without offering resistance.

Troops already deployed along the front line advanced methodically toward the dam throughout the day. No armed confrontations have been recorded since the morning hours, though analysts warn the situation remains volatile and could shift rapidly if the withdrawal stalls or additional reinforcements are dispatched.
