Local APEX Accelerators Mark National APEX Day, Spotlighting Free Help for Businesses Pursing Government Contracts
"National APEX Day highlights the critical role APEX Accelerators play in connecting businesses to government contracting opportunities that strengthen supply chains, fuel innovation, and support mission readiness. We are proud to celebrate the programs, counselors, and clients whose collaboration is essential in helping build a stronger and more resilient industrial base," said Darryl Thomas, Executive Director of the National APEX Accelerator Alliance (NAPEX).
APEX Accelerators guide businesses of every size and industry — from manufacturers and technology innovators to service providers and construction firms — through the complex world of government contracting. The program's mission is straightforward: give businesses the no-cost expertise they need to compete for, win, and successfully perform on contracts with federal, state, and local government agencies, strengthening supply chains and supporting the nation's defense and infrastructure along the way.
"National APEX Day is a testament to and recognition of the individuals throughout the APEX Accelerators Network," said Joseph Scott, President of NAPEX. “Every day, those individuals serve as the ally to government contractors navigating the Defense Industrial Base and the broader government marketplace. They bridge the divide between industry and government – through guiding new entrants into the marketplace, identifying critical technology innovators, and more – all the while developing a stronger and more resilient supplier network.”
In the April 2024–March 2025 program year, the over 80 APEX Accelerators making up the national network served 26,232 new business clients and delivered 6,284 training events, helping businesses win 549,519 contracts and subcontracts worth a combined $64.9 billion — an average award of $118,231 — on $55 million in federal funding. Roughly 35% of new clients served had capabilities in one of the Department of War's priority Critical Technology Areas, which include microelectronics, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and space technologies.
Locally, New Hampshire’s APEX Accelerator worked with 105 businesses and supported clients in winning $1.9 billion.
“Navigating government procurement shouldn't be a barrier to business growth,” said New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs Commissioner Lucy Lange. “Our APEX Accelerator gives New Hampshire businesses the targeted, free expertise they need to bid and win. Every contract secured through this program reinvests critical dollars right back into our communities and workforce.”
